Annie's Arc: Reflections of Nature in Polymer Clay

HAPPY DILEMMA

Oh, what a beautiful shell! Whered you get it?

Glad you like it. I made it.

Oh, I see. You painted a shell. Right?

No, the shell isnt real. I made it out of clay.

Oh, I get it now. You have a mold you bought to make shells with. You painted them so wonderfully. Howd you learn to do that? Who taught you? They look so real. It must take you a long time.

No, I dont use a mold. Every one is hand-sculpted. And I dont paint them. I combine beige and colored clay together to make each one. Thats why theyre unique.

I still dont get it. Who taught you to do this?

You got a minute? Let me show you what I taught myself to do.

My happy dilemma is convincing people that Mother Nature didnt make them directly, but through me made them.
